Counting down to Christmas
I absolutely love everything about Christmas which is no surprise really, as I even have a Christmassy name! The anticipation of Christmas is possibly the best part which might be why I have a tiny obsession with advent calendars. I really, really love advent calendars and had a bit of an Oprah moment last Christmas. “You get an advent calendar and you get an advent calendar. Everybody gets an advent calendar!”
You can but advent calendars for almost everyone on your list, even the dog! I have compiled a list of my favourite finds to help you get into the Christmas spirit too, starting with the adults because why should the kids have all the fun?
For your mum, your sister or even for yourself.
The Bluebird Tea co are a little UK based tea company who hand blend truly special teas. The calendar includes tea blends of Mrs Claus’ Prosecco.
You can find it here www.bluebirdteaco.com and they deliver to Australia.
L’Occitane make really lovely advent calendars. I gave one to my mum and Sister-in-law last Christmas. Behind each door you will find some of their most popular products. Little hand creams, shower gel, body lotion and perfume. They even have a luxury version this year. A sweet smelling start to the festive season. You can find them here…….http://au.loccitane.com/
For your dad, your brother and your husband.
Crafty brew- beer advent calendar! This is perfect for the “hard to buy for” on your list. Behind each little door is an Australian craft beer, featuring unique brews and microbreweries that you might never have tried before. I gave one to my brother last Christmas and he was even patient enough to only open one door per day!
You can find them here: https://craftybrew.com.au/beer-advent-calendar
Master of malt make very fancy advent calendars. Behind each door is a teeny tiny, wax sealed bottle of scotch. Most of the scotch is from small batch distilleries and will really help to get someone into the Christmas spirit! Delivery to Australia is easy but be warned, you will need to pay Australian duty before your order can be delivered. They also have a few gin calendars that look great too. You can find them here- www.masterofmalt.com
Coco chocolate
For some people, it’s just not a Christmas countdown without chocolate.
Coco chocolate are a small batch chocolate maker, based in Mosman, Sydney who hand make delicious organic chocolates.
These little jewels are almost too pretty to eat. The advent calendar comes in milk, dark or white or a mixture of all three. You can find them here- http://cocochocolate.com.au/
For the kids
There are so many different advent calendars available for kids and they don’t have to be chocolate. The Lego calendars are very popular but here are a few more ideas.
Playmobil make calendars for preschool aged children as well as bigger kids. You can find one to match the interests of almost any child from ice hockey to princesses.
Behind each door is a figurine or play pieces and once you have opened all the doors you will have a lovely playset to use all year. Playmobil is timeless and these little sets will last forever.
You can find a great range of Playmobil advent calendars from a really lovely small family business here: www.bunyiptoys.com.au
Make your own. Then it’s up to you!!! Little boxes or pockets can be filled with tiny nail polish, erasers, small toys, chocolates, lip gloss hair accessories. Tailor one especially for your child. Empty advent calendars are available almost everywhere.
Don’t forget your Christmas jammies so your kids can celebrate the festive season in style.Christmas orders closing 10th November 2017.
