There is no average child (don’t we know it!) but that is what is so unique about them; however there is an Australian size average standard.

This is the Australian size guide to help you find the correct size for your child up to size 14, or 14 years old.
Children of the same age range in sizes dramatically, our own girls are the same age but totally different sizes!
Tip: lean towards purchasing the bigger size in the range if your child is above average in height, chest and waist measurements.
Australia has fire standards for children’s nightwear production and some limited daywear. AS/NZS 1249:2014 - Nightie Night Lane uses 100% organic cotton materials of different weights. To comply we have labelled the garments with the red label in keeping with the standard. The red tag is a warning for children and parents to keep the garment and the lovely little body inside it away from fire or hovering too close to any heat source. The image below shows how Nightie Nighte Lane clearly identifies the category 4 fire warning.
No fabric used in children’s nightwear is flame proof. Watch, be cautious, keep long garments especially ones that may billow away from heat sources.
Pyjamas can be classified differently and have a low fire danger tag. No fabric or style is fire proof, these tags are to remind us all to supervise children always while they are around heat or flame.
